Supporters of Donald Trump have expressed concern after noticing an unusual detail in a newly released photograph of the former president.
The image, captured during a meeting between Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron on the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, depicts the two leaders engaging in multiple handshakes. However, what caught the attention of Trump’s followers was an apparent irregularity on his hand.
A noticeable mark, resembling a bruise, was observed on Trump’s hand, leading some to speculate that it had been covered with makeup to mask its appearance.

One user on X commented, “I was scrolling through Getty and couldn’t help but notice this significant bruise on Trump’s hand today.”
Another observer noted, “Photos from the past few months show bruising on Trump’s hand… it always appears on the same hand.”
A third person questioned, “Trump has a large bruise on the back of his right hand. What caused it?” mirroring the curiosity of many others.
Similarly, another individual asked, “Why does Trump have a big bruise on his right hand?”
Getty Images’ caption for the photo stated: “Makeup covers a bruise on the back of U.S. President Donald Trump’s hand as he hosts French President Emmanuel Macron for meetings at the White House.”
The exact cause of the bruise remains unclear, though similar marks have been visible in previous photographs of Trump.
During the meeting with Macron, discussions took a serious turn when the French president corrected Trump’s remarks regarding financial aid to Ukraine.
Macron Clarifies Financial Support to Ukraine Following Trump’s Statement
During a press briefing after their meeting, Trump suggested that Ukraine had received substantial backing from the United States and implied that some form of repayment was due.
Macron addressed reporters, emphasizing: “This war has cost all of us significantly, and the responsibility lies with Russia as the aggressor.”
Trump then claimed that European assistance to Ukraine was in the form of loans rather than direct aid: “Just so you understand, Europe is loaning money to Ukraine. They get their money back.”
At that moment, Macron gently placed his hand on Trump’s wrist and corrected him: “No. To be clear, we have covered 60 percent of the total effort. Like the U.S., we have provided a mix of loans, guarantees, and grants, as well as direct financial support.”
He elaborated further: “If at the end of negotiations they are willing to return the funds, that’s great, but ultimately, we have already paid for it.”
Trump, appearing unconvinced, responded, “If you believe that, that’s fine with me,” but reiterated his stance: “But they get their money back, and we don’t.”
